How to Easily and Quickly Peel Garlic

Garlic is a great addition to many delicious recipes but it can often be a very time consuming process even just to peel. This article will show you a great trick that will make peeling garlic fast and easy.

If you're new to cooking or haven't yet learned the trick that's described in this article, garlic can be a fiddly and time consuming vegetable to prepare, especially the peeling process. Common complaints are that it's fiddly, and that the sharp bits of the skin can often get under your finger nails and be very uncomfortable.

But you need not worry because help is at hand, this tutorial is for you. By following the steps outlined below and by watching the accompanying video, you'll quickly learn a great little trick and be able to peel garlic cleanly and easily in 5 seconds.

Outlined below are a number of easy steps. Read through them and then watch the video to help make better sense of what is described.



You'll need:

-A sturdy chopping board

-A bulb of garlic

-A large knife



Hold the bulb garlic firmly with your fingers and chop off both ends, make sure you're careful!



Here is the special trick. Place the large wide end of the knife flat onto the the bulb of garlic and hit hard with the palm of your hand. Repeat if necessary



All the skin should now easily come off in one go, leaving you with a peeled garlic



Now chop the garlic and add to your favourite dish
